Jammu & Kashmir: Three militants and a woman has been killed in Batamalo gunfight, one CRPF officer injured

Kashmir: Three militants were killed in an encounter in Batamaloo area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district today.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told that, three militants were killed in the gunfight, however their identity couldn’t be ascertained yet.

Earlier, A 45 year old Woman was also killed in cross firing and a Deputy commandant of 117 Bn of CRPF got injured, and subsequently shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment.

The lady has been identified as Kounsar Riyaz of Batamalo recieved bullet wound during cross firing, She was immediately shifted to Police hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Earlier, According to the reports, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Batamaloo.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off this encounter.
